The Writing Center is Face-to-Face AND Online!

When you sign up for an appointment slot, please note the TYPE of appointment you are reserving. We are offering three types of sessions this semester.

FACE-TO-FACE appointments will be conducted in the Writing Center on the 2nd floor of the Memorial Library. Please be sure to bring TWO copies of your paper.

VIRTUAL appointments will be conducted online in one of two formats:

"E-TUTORING" -- this is a non-synchronous (not live) session in which you can upload your paper and receive written feedback within 24 hours of your appointment time slot.

"ONLINE" -- this is a synchronous (live) session in which you will log onto the session, being sure to enable your video and microphone if possible, to discuss your paper with a consultant. In these sessions, you may upload a file when you schedule your appointment AND/OR upload your paper to the platform when you join the session. Consultants can explain which toolbar buttons to use to upload and also comment on the paper.

Under each Consultant's name in the general schedule, it will show if they are capable of doing face-to-face, e-tutoring, or online tutoring (or all three). When you click on an appointment box, you may choose your own preference.

PLEASE BE SURE TO FILL OUT OUR POST-SESSION EVALUATION ONLINE so that we know what is working and what we can improve!

OUR WRITING CONSULTANTS ARE TRAINED TO WORK WITH ALL DISCIPLINES, TYPES OF WRITING, AND CITATION STYLES. Although they may have certain areas of specialty and experience, they are flexible and can work on whatever YOU need.
